Tips:  Keep the lure directly under the kayak whenever possible when fishing inside the kelp beds.  Don't bury the hook in the kelp or between the rocks.  As the line drags up the kelp it may feel like a bite.  Not certain it was a bite, wait for a second bite before ripping up on the rod.  If you don't bury the hook or get it snagged far away, it can be easily released. 

If you get slammed by a big fish off the bottom, be sure to rip up on the rod and get em' a couple feet off the bottom very quickly or the fish will try to wedge itself in the rocks.
